Hello! I have been experimenting with a RSPB1 SDR with SDRConnect on Linux. I am using a 1/4 wavelength 2m whip antenna that is directly connected via a 6″ coax line. The unit and software appear to function nominally, except that I noticed that if I tune to broadcast WFM stations (in the “Broadcast Bands” tab) that the signal strength is very high and the “Overload” indicator is displayed. This is the case even if I am tuned to noise. If I do tune to an actual station, it does demodulate correctly.

My questions are: Is this behavior expected? Is there anything that I can do software- or hardware-wise to manage these strong signals? Finally, is it dangerous for the unit to be tuned in this overload condition?

      Thanks!

To get around this, I go to Device Settings and enable RF Notch.
